Things to Do

We've run around this city for the last decade+ together! We've come up with a list of our favorite recommendations for your time in Chicago. Summer in CHI will be endless options for things to do! Make sure you make reservation in advance or buy tickets online for most of the places below because it will be a busy, but FUN weekend!

Bongo Room $$

1470 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL 60622
, (773) 489-0690

Hands down the best brunch spot in Chicago - and everyone knows it!!! Two locations but this one is closest to venue and hotels. Make a reservation or else expect a wait. Located in Wicker Park - the cool artsy hipster area with lots of great shops, dining, and bars. (Miamians- think Wynwood!) Their sweet options are *MUA! chef's kiss*! LGBTQ+ owned.

Pasta Palazzo $$

1966 North Halsted Street, Chicago, IL 60614
, (773) 248-1400

Our first date spot and favorite restaurant in all of Chicago! Great portions. Yummy sangria. You can go... but don't tell any of your friends! We want to keep this pasta spot an insider secret.

Eleven | Eleven $$

1111 West Lake Street, Chicago, IL 60607
, (312) 248-8942

Black-owned, classic dinner favorites, and super fun. Stay for drinks, great music & vibes. This is in the West Loop area of Chicago, near downtown. West Loop has the best dining options in Chicago (IMO). BIPOC owned.

Tango Sur $$$

3763 North Southport Avenue, Chicago, IL 60613
, (773) 477-5466

Delicious & intimate for a quiet romantic evening or small-ish family gathering (Argentine - think steak and Malbec. In Chicago's famous Wrigleyville (Lakeview) area. It's also BYOB :) Definitely make a reservation.

Chalet

228 West Chicago Avenue, Chicago, IL 60654
, (312) 741-9785

BEST espresso martini, ski-themed "chalet" bar in downtown's Gold Coast! This was a cozy vibe that we both loved.

Cindy's Rooftop Bar $$$

12 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60603
, (312) 792-3502

Think glamour downtown experience. Delicious cocktails with the best view of the city and lake there is. Expect a line - worth the wait. Great for a bougie Sunday brunch too (guaranteed killer IG shot).

DryHop Brewers

3155 North Broadway, Chicago, IL 60657
, (773) 857-3155

Ryan's all-time favorite brewery with amazing eats. Check 'em out in Lakeview, and hit Boystown out at night!

Beauty Bar Chicago

1444 West Chicago Avenue, Chicago, IL 60642

Very fun retro-dance bar with great throwback sets and a disco ball, vintage aesthetic. Open late. They sometimes do manicures as a special combo with a cocktail. We love the vibes here and have been a ton!! Come here only if you're ready to sweaty-dance the night away.

Logan Square Farmers Market

3025-3113 West Logan Boulevard, Chicago, IL 60647
, (773) 489-3222

On Sundays! Best in town - huge market and some vintage and small shop vendors. Great food and gelato.

Chicago River Boat Architecture Tours

465 North McClurg Court, Chicago, IL 60611
, (708) 488-6343

A must-do if you've never done! Boat tour of Chicago down the river.

Ravinia Brewing Company

, (773) 799-8050

Maplewood Brewery & Distillery

2717 North Maplewood Avenue, Chicago, IL 60647
, (773) 270-1061

Right across the street from our venue, we will likely end up here more than once, open til midnight and great Chicago brewery. Ryan likes the Pilsen Pilsner best!
