We met at my grandparents when we were sixteen thanks to one of our very best friends. Although Joseph and I went to different high schools, we always found excuses to see each other. We loved being together! On October 6th, 2017 we started dating, and had the times of our lives! We went through all of high school as best friends; going to dances, parties, choir concerts and football games together. We were "living for the weekends" because sometimes that was our only times we could see each other. We graduated together and had an amazing summer of trips and fun! Joseph left on his mission in July 2019, which was so hard! But he was doing great things and blessed the lives of so many people in Utah. I went off to college and started my major in Education to become a Science Teacher. After Joseph came back from his mission, we started our college lives together at NAU, counting down the days until we were engaged and ready to start the newest chapter of our lives. We are so blessed and excited for married life and are so thankful for everything and everyone who got us to where we are today. From high school sweethearts to newlyweds, we are so happy!
After a long day of classes at NAU, Joseph called me up and said, "Hey, wanna take a spontaneous road trip to Utah?" Of course I said yes! We packed up that night, and drove up the next day. We visited his old mission areas and met with people he taught. On the last night there, we went to the Cedar City temple. Joseph seemed adamant on taking some pictures outside the temple, and was sad the gates to the grounds were closed. Although it was freezing outside, we snuck around the front to stand on the lawn outside the temple gates and look from outside. It was beautiful, and made even more perfect when he got done on one knee! Best trip ever!
