We welcome guests to fly in on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. Whichever schedule suits your fancy! We understand flight prices may vary dramatically. We're planning to arrive in Scotland on Saturday at latest. Our jolly group adventure will certainly begin bright and early on Sunday, March 24th 2024!
8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Join the bride and groom to be for a fun-filled day in Edinburgh. We're looking forward to seeing the Old Town and eating our way through. Please RSVP to let us know you're interested in joining us for some of Sunday's activities. Activities are to be confirmed at a later date, but to give a general idea of what we may dabble in: Edinburgh Castle, walking up Arthur's Seat, Dungeon Tour, Food Tour, wandering around Old Town and taking in all the independent shops, small galleries and cobbled streets.
6:00 pm
The drive from Edinburgh to Isle of Skye will take us around five hours. The drive is littered with grassy meadows, rocky cliffs, castles, hairy coos, and more. We'll spend Monday making the journey and enjoying along the way. Leaving Edinburgh, the best route to Skye takes you up the A9 past the lovely town called Pitlochry. We should try stopping at House of Bruar for lunch and/or shopping! You can then take the Dalwhinnie road and head straight for Skye OR (it adds at least 30 mins) keep driving up the A9 through The Cairngorms National Park and into Inverness. From Inverness you can join the A87 which takes you to Skye via Loch Ness. Both routes take you past Eilean Donan Castle just before you get to the Skye bridge.
8:00 am
We'll spend Tuesday, the day before the wedding ceremony, enjoying the sights and smells of the misty isle. The Isle of Skye is abundant in scenery and wildlife and Tuesday is dedicated to enjoying it!
