We're getting married!

It was the Summer of 2021 and we were both fairly new to Asbury Park. We became friends through our mutual friend Brian and all started to hangout. One night we went out to Travis’ favorite place in AP called Johnny Mac's. This was during the peak of Covid, so there were plastic dividers boxing us off from talking to other people (which if you know us this was quite difficult as we always wind up making friends everywhere we go). We started to play a game called quarters on the bar and became extremely competitive with each other. As this fun night started to come to an end, I dropped Travis off at his apartment, hoping for a goodnight kiss where instead I got a high 5 and see ya soon! The next day I realized I had Travis' phone in my purse from the night before and had to bring it back. I went to his apartment to drop it off when he said "Let's grab lunch I'm starving.” As we were sitting at Cardinal Provisions, Travis realized he locked himself out of his apartment. We spent the whole day together going to the beach, walking to Columns, and later going out with friends to Ocean House where I finally got that kiss. Travis claims he locked himself out of the apartment on purpose as an excuse to hang out all day. Whether he did or didn't, I couldn't be happier because we have been together ever since.

Those of you that know Travis, you know that when he is excited about something he physically cannot hold it in. We started planning our Europe trip early in 2023 and chose to visit Portugal, Spain and France. He started to stress out that we needed to get everything planned because "he really wants to do something there"I think we all know he wasn't talking about the 13 mile hikes I was planning for us to do there. This lead us to have conversations about engagement, marriage and one day starting a family. The next thing we knew, we started planning our wedding. We booked our wedding ceremony in Newport, Rhode Island with close friends and family, our reception in Asbury Park to celebrate with everyone, and decided Europe would be our honeymoon. This all was before we were actually engaged! When June came around, Travis was in the process of buying a ring. He was basically waiting at the door everyday for it to come. He told me he was going to hide it and I was not allowed to look for it. I actually like surprises so I was willing to wait. The day it actually came in, in true Travis fashion, he lasted all of 5 hours before he proposed in our kitchen. We both laughed and cried and enjoyed the moment just us. We decided to wait to tell our friends and family until we were in Europe. Fast forward and it’s July 4th at 7am. We are standing outside the Barcelona Cathedral, on 4 hours of sleep from dancing all night with friends we made, when he got down on one knee and proposed for us to show the world. The moment couldn't have been more beautiful and so perfectly us.
