I was at a place in my life that I was ready to spread my wings, so I was on the hunt for the perfect starter home. I had met with a financial advisor who recommended a great mortgage guy that I should meet up with to start the home buying process. Soon after that, my mom and I met with Mr. Mike Giampietro. We chatted over student loans, debt and my credit, you know, the boring stuff. Mr. Mike then commented on my impeccable credit score and noted that I would make a great daughter-in-law with a line of credit like mine. I laughed it off and continued on with the meeting, not knowing that he had a single son at home, waiting in the wings. After the initial meeting ended, my mom and Mr. Mike exchanged a few text messages and decided to set up a blind date for their children. After all numbers had been exchanged, Tony texted me and set up a dinner date. He ended the conversation with, "Don't wear heels, I'm not too tall!" It was that one-liner that truly drew my 5'9 self in. He picked me up and took me to dinner at Hootch and Banter in downtown Frederick & the rest is history, as they say. After 300 miles had been hiked, 50 Moscow mules made and 40 hours of backgammon played I can honestly say that my heart has never been happier. -Taylor
I got ready for a dinner date night with my best friend. We headed back to Hootch & Banter where we had had our first date. We indulged in cocktails, mac and cheese and enjoyed the evening together. After we finished dinner, we took a walk on the canal in downtown Frederick. I was talking to Tony and realized that I didn't hear him anymore. Worried that he had fainted or something, I stopped and turned around..he wasn't behind me anymore. I glanced down, and to my surprise, he was down on one knee with the most beautiful ring in his hand. My grandmother's gorgeous diamond had been set in a rose gold band & it was the most perfect ring that I could ever imagine for myself. -Taylor
