We met *organically* through a mutual friend, Ashley Dahl (our officiant 😊). Ashley planted the seed in both Nick and Taylor that they would be great together. Taylor met Ashley in her neighborhood after she had gotten her golden retriever, Millie. Ashley casually mentioned that there was this smart, sweet (didn’t say cute…) guy that used to live in the neighborhood that Taylor just had to meet. Meanwhile, Nick was replacing Ashley’s garbage disposal (handyman 😉) when she said, “hey, I met your future wife” and told him all about this smart, cute girl in the neighborhood that Nick just had to meet. A short time later, Taylor and Nick started chatting at an annual crawfish boil of another mutual friend,where there was instant chemistry. At the end of the party, Taylor texted Ashley how great Nick was, then called her mom on her way home and said, ‘I think I met my husband.’ At the same time, Nick texted Ashley, ‘You’re right. I think I met my wife.’ There was one problem, he didn’t get her phone number. Instead of asking one of our many friends, he did the only respectable, classy thing he could have done; he slid into her DMs to wish her good luck the night before a big interview she had mentioned. The conversation continued… After getting her phone number and a few weeks of Taylor traveling across Italy and Greece with 7-hour time zone differences, they decided to go on a date when she got home. In true rom com fashion, Nick picked Taylor up at the international terminal after an 11-hour flight (he was waiting in the sea of people at the airport when Taylor came through the doors), and the rest was history.
