We’re getting married!

On my first outing at Central Michigan University with the Biology Student Graduate Association, I ordered alligator bites…. In Michigan. I don’t know if it was my poor culinary choices, my accent, or the debate I got into about alligator behavior that followed but Taylor (who was at the opposite end of a very long table) spent the next few minutes chair-hopping down the long table until we were sitting next to each other. The two southerners at the table had found each other, and we talked for hours. Over the next few months, we tried to find any excuse to visit or pass each other’s labs- taking the stairs, timing my exit so that we’d run into each other in front of the building on the way to class, and even a few more ridiculous things. One night, for example, some other students were going to see “it”. I hate scary movies, but thought Taylor might be going. I asked him if he was, and he said “oh, yeah!”. I didn’t find out until months later that he actually wasn’t planning on going, and had changed his mind because he thought I was going. We both went, and didn’t even get to sit by each other. It might not have been worth it if all I got that night was 135 minutes of clown-based terror, but it was worth every minute because that night I also got Taylor’s number. We went out for sushi on our first date soon after… and the rest is history! We can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together and we’re so excited to celebrate it with you!
