Best coffee bar in KC, don't @ me. If you get here early enough on Saturday (10:30 absolute latest), get the breakfast sandwich with homemade sausage, egg, and pimento cheese. You will not regret this decision.
Good coffee, especially if you care more about your Instagram pictures. Kidding, it is a really cool location and the bakery has awesome pastries. But also good for Instagram.
Best BBQ in the USA hands down (if you're from any state other than TX your opinion doesn't even matter). Get a Z-Man (jumbo size if you're a big lad like me). Definitely order fries, but one order is enough for two people. Also highly recommend the ribs or burnt ends.
A KC staple. Get a triple Winstead with a 50-50 (tots and onion rings obviously) and a chocolate malt to go, walk over to find a spot on the Nelson-Atkins lawn, and thank me later.
Where hipsters go for breakfast. Get biscuits and gravy as a side to share since you're in the Midwest.
2nd best BBQ in KC. Go here if you want a nicer, sit-down BBQ experience and you think you're too cool to eat gas station BBQ.
Turkish/Mediterranean brunch (or dinner) spot. First come first serve, but it's worth the wait. The patio out front is nice if the weather is right.
Best high end restaurant in KC. If you're looking for something casual though, they have an incredible late night menu of food and drinks + always have a live band. If you order any food here, you absolutely must order the seaweed donuts and the fries (this is the only time you'll ever catch me suggesting vegan anything on record, but ask them if you can additionally get the vegan aioli dip).
If you are hungover at any point, this is your only chance at salvation. Yes, it looks like food inspectors intentionally avoid it. Get the machaca breakfast burrito, or, if you're someone who thinks vanilla is spicy, get any of the other breakfast burritos. P.S. Obviously order sour cream on the side
Great venue for drinking some awesome KC beers with lots of space, tables, and a great view of KC. Solid option if you want to get your drinking started a bit earlier than cocktail hour. Food is ok, but will keep you alive until you can get your hands on some heavy apps.
This speakeasy has the best cocktails in KC, so naturally it's little tricky to get to. Essentially you walk down an alleyway, enter a side door, walk down a random staircase, enter a little room which makes you wonder if you're about to get murdered, and then voila you enter the speakeasy. Godspeed.
Great for casual cocktails in an area full of bars and restaurants. It's fun to bar hop around here if you have time. If it's nice out, they open up a nice patio.
In a older warehouse district of KC, the Ship is the most unique bar in town. If you're looking for a great night out, this is your spot.
One of the coolest bars in the city right now with an incredible rooftop bar as well. It's connected to Lazia which has maybe the best Italian food in KC.
Locally made tequila cocktails. Enough said.
One of our go-to spots for a fun vibe and craft beers. If you've got time, get a cocktail at Mean-Mule and then head over here.
Great cocktails and famous for Jackson Mahomes throwing a fit, because they wouldn't let him cut the line.
