To be honest, there's quite a history between us. We were high school sweethearts who went separate ways, only to reunite in 2014. Who could have predicted we'd be here today? In 2014, Tashawn received heartbreaking news of his little brother's passing, which was an incredibly tough time. Being there for him became my priority. In his words, "She stood by my side after my brother passed and hasn’t left since!" Since then, we've been inseparable, moving into our first apartment in May 2015. In 2019, he proposed, but life had other plans — our first child arrived just as the pandemic hit in April 2020! We were fortunate to buy our first home a month before welcoming our soon-to-be four-year-old. We've been engaged almost five years this September, and finally, we're getting married this July — a pandemic, a home, and two kids later. God is good! 2007 • Who would have guessed that a shy "Hey Tay" and a wave after passing each other on teal hall during high school would be the beginning of forever? We dated for about a year and a half before going our separate ways. Now, fast forward to today, and here we are! 2013 • Upon graduating college in May, I was pleasantly surprised to receive a congratulatory Facebook message from Tashawn. His message meant a lot to me, as I had no idea he was even keeping up with my life since our split in 2008. From there, our conversation took off, almost as if we had picked up right where we left off. It was like rekindling a five-year-old connection! 2014 • As we flirted, spent time together, and supported each other through tough times, our connection deepened. One evening, while sipping wine on the beach the sky was adorned with three shooting stars — quickly we both made wishes! Little did we know then, but it's said that such moments signal a message from your angels — that it's a time to manifest desires and bring positive change into your life and the lives of others. Remarkably, those wishes eventually came true. 2015 • Our relationship became official one [drunken] memorable night after my bestie Vicky's birthday party in January. By May 15th of that year, we were settling into our first apartment in Denbigh Village — a place we truly adored. Countless memories were created there as we rediscovered each other and grew together. We feel incredibly blessed to have learned so much about love — our love. 2019 • On Monday, September 2, 2019, Tashawn surprised me by proposing. While I had a feeling something was up a few months prior, I was completely caught off guard. We had just returned to our apartment (Club 4C - IYKYK) after our trip to Philly's Made in America festival. Picture it: "Sweat pants, hair tied, chilling with no makeup on…" That's when he popped the question, his hands sweating profusely. True to himself, he started with a joke — classic Tashawn — and then knelt down to ask me to be his wife. Naturally, I said yes! 2024 • After navigating a pandemic, settling into our new home, and welcoming two beautiful babies, we've finally decided to tie the knot! Only after attempting to plan our wedding twice before. They say the third time's a charm. #thealmost5yearengagement
