Sixth Street
Sixth Street is one of the most iconic streets in Austin. It’s the epicenter of what made Austin the “Live Music Capital of the World.” There are three sections of Sixth Street in Austin: West, East and what locals refer to as Dirty. Hamilton Pool Preserve
https://parks.traviscountytx.gov/parks/hamilton-pool-preserve Hamilton Pool Preserve is a natural pool that was created when the dome of an underground river collapsed due to massive erosion thousands of years ago. It is one of the most beautiful watering holes in Texas and it’s only a 20 minute drive from Dripping Springs, Texas and a 35 minute drive from Johnson City, Texas. Reservations are required and must be booked months in advance so make your reservation today at the link above. Swimming in the preserve is determined by bacterial levels and recent rainfall. Swimming is not always guaranteed but beautiful views and a sandy beach are.
The Boardwalk at Lady Bird Lake
The boardwalk is a walking/running/biking trail that offers great views of the city skyline. The best place to access the boardwalk is at 1820 Lakeshore Blvd where there is free street parking. There is also free garage parking at Live Love Paddle located at 1610 E Riverside Drive.
Live Love Paddle

They also rent canoes, nucnaoes, and paddle boards. They also offer bat watching kayak tours as well as daytime urban kayak tours of downtown Austin on Lady Bird Lake.
Congress Avenue Bridge
From March to October, 1.5 million bats emerge nightly from narrow crevices in the underside of the Congress Avenue Bridge. They usually start to emerge from the bridge around 20 minutes before sundown. Barton Springs Pool
Barton Springs Pool. The pool itself measures three acres in size, and is fed from underground springs with an average temperature of 68-70 degrees, ideal for year-round swimming.
Mount Bonnell

When you reach the top of the 102-stair climb, you can rest at the view deck and pavilion before making your way back down.
McKinney Falls State Park
McKinney Falls is a 641-acre park features over 80 campsites, including developed (RV) and hike-in sites. Screened shelters, group shelters and a group dining hall are also available. Outdoor recreation opportunities include hiking, mountain biking, bicycling, swimming, birding and wildlife observation. Onion Creek, which flows 1.7 miles through the park, offers both swimming and fishing opportunities.
