The Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) is the closest airport to downtown Santa Barbara (15 minutes), with direct or connecting flights from Denver, Dallas, Chicago, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and more. We recommend booking early and/or using airfare sites like Expedia or Hopper to find the best rates for your travel.

Los Angeles International Airport

LAX is a ~1.5 hour drive to Santa Barbara, but has direct flights from London (LHR), Vienna (VIE), New York (LGA, JFK) and more. You can also connect to SBA though LAX. If flying to/from LAX, we recommend looking into a rental car or the hourly Santa Barbara Airbus, a clean and easy way to get to downtown Santa Barbara. We also recommend booking early and/or using airfare sites like Expedia or Hopper to find the best rates for your travel.

LAX Terminal - Car Rental

It's easy to rent a car at LAX and drive the beautiful coastline up the Pacific Coast Highway. We recommend using Priceline to find the lowest fares. Enterprise, Hertz, Budget, Avis, Alamo, and National rentals, among others, are all available at LAX.

Train

Amtrak - Pacific Surfliner Route

If you're looking to fly into LAX and enjoy a beautiful scenic drive up the California coast without the hassle of renting a car, then this is the perfect option for you. It's fairly easy to get a train out of LA Union Station (located in Downtown) and into Santa Barbara, as the route runs multiple times a day. The Santa Barbara Amtrak station is also centrally located in the main downtown area.
