Your heart and my heart are very, very old friends

Amar decided to check out match.com on September 23rd, 2016 to see what's 'out there'. He came across my profile as one of his first matches and was blown away. After trying to go to sleep that night, he woke up at 4 am and signed up for a membership, created his profile and sent me a message....no response. In January, he sent me another message...no response. In March, I signed on to match and saw his two messages and immediately sent him an email....we met for the first time after 1 week of emailing on March 26th 2017. We were engaged on September 23rd, 2017.

On our fourth date, we walked for miles along the Trinity Trail. We stopped under a very special tree just to enjoy the breeze and listen to the grass and leaves rustle. It was a tranquil, soul reviving moment. We just stood there and became part of the landscape around us. After a few minutes, Amar played Bette Midler's The Rose, and we both became teary eyed. We decided at that moment that we wanted to always be in each other's lives. 5 months after we first met, Amar and I went for a picnic under that same tree. As I was fighting off ants and throwing scraps to the birds, I heard The Rose start to play and Amar began talking about our journey over the last few months. He was kneeling behind me and when I turned around he was holding the ring and asking me to marry him!
