Locked down and quarantined, Jeff turned to online dating for the first time during COVID. It had been a point of debate, but recently verified that Jeff made the first move: he winked and she winked back. It was a Match! Being a veteran of online dating, Taryn took the lead and quickly moved through the vetting process of messaging, texting and the all telling phone call. Toward the end of their call, the two came to realize that they were in fact neighbors. They had been living in the same neighborhood for two years and have never met. They had decided to meet up for coffee and quickly knew they wanted more. Jeff planned their official first date where he packed a picnic, bought her flowers and took her to the park. They sat for hours, chatting about life, goals, kids, and dogs while the ants feasted on the impeccable picnic Jeff put together. They shared their first kiss and as many can attest, Taryn knew by the end of that date, she had finally found her person.
After a year and a half of dating, moving in together, blending families and putting an offer in on their home, Jeff was ready to ask Taryn to be his wife. The two decided to play hooky one Friday (a routine they had established for squeezing in dates) and went down to Laguna Beach for brunch. They had stopped for coffee and decided to walk around before heading to the restaurant. If anything was going to clue Taryn to what Jeff had in store, it was when he started walking aimlessly along the path. Little did she know, he was waiting for the que from the photographer before popping the question. Finally, they stopped at a bench in front of Las Brisas and took in the view. It was at that moment Jeff stepped back, dropped to one knee and asked Taryn to marry him. Taryn, without saying a word, embraced him with a kiss as onlookers around them applauded their love.
