George’s Majestic Lounge in Fayetteville, Arkansas is not a big venue. So small, that when there’s someone new there, you notice immediately. Two people, there separately to enjoy Charles The First, make continued eye contact throughout the show. Ask each & they would tell you the other was “staring all night.” As Taryn heads for the door towards the end of the evening, Gates grabs her arm & asks, “What’s your name?” From there, he found her on instagram & the rest is history.
Gates & I had done some promo shots for our photographer friends a few times, so when they reached out to me & asked for a last second summer shoot for their website, I didn’t think twice & agreed. The weather wasn’t great, schedules were crazy, & me thinking this was just a favor we were doing, it ended up getting rescheduled about 3 times. Fast forward to the day, I’m picking out my outfit for the shoot & go for a cream dress, then stop myself & say “Well then people will think this is an engagement shoot.” & Gates says, “We don’t want that!!!” *wink wink* We start hiking the land behind our property, finally getting to the peak, where he drops to one knee. We honestly can’t even remember what was said, but between both of our tears, & a soft “yes”, my future husband stood & held me in his arms. Gates coordinated my nail appointment, lash appointment, photographers, & had the ring for 6 months in our home without me knowing. The lengths he goes to make me feel loved are beyond compare. I can’t wait to proudly be Mrs. Richardson.
