Amee's Story

Tarang and I matched on a dating app about 5 years ago. It wasn’t the best time to start a relationship for me so we decided to just be friends. Fast forward 3 years later and we matched on another dating app. We had each others number so Tarang texted me and we started catching up on each others life. He hadn’t asked me out so I assumed that we were just talking as friends. In August, he told me that we never got to celebrate me getting my masters degree (I got my masters at the end of 2019 and mind you it’s 2021) and he said let’s go get Sushi. I didn’t think anything of it and thought “aw, that’s really sweet.” He ended up paying for dinner and then we went our separate ways. We continued talking “as friends” (that was an assumption on my part because he still hadn’t asked me out on a date). He then figured out that I had never tried Korean food before so he asked me if I wanted to go to a Korean BBQ place to try the food. He said we never got to celebrate me getting my first job as a special educator and obviously in my head I thought, “aw, this is really sweet.” I still didn’t know it was a date and he ended up paying for me that night as well. I still thought we were friends because he hadn’t asked me out. I later found out (after we started actually dating) that he thought both of those were dates. He didn’t specify that it was a date so how was I supposed to know it was a date!! Fast forward a few weeks later…..we were really enjoying each others company and it just felt right when we were together. After that, I told my entire family and all my friends about him because I knew that this was it. Fast forward to two years later…we got engaged September 10, 2023 and are about the get married in less than 6 months. What a wonderful journey it has been being with you, Tarang, and I can’t wait to marry you! Love you always and forever <3

Tarang's Story

Little do people know but I have known Amee since 2018. After a failed attempt to try to date, Amee left me high and dry in the dreaded friend zone. I had no idea that our paths would cross again a few years later resulting in some life-changing events. In August 2021, after we rematched on a dating app (surprise surprise), Amee and I decided to go out to a local Baltimore favorite, Sushi Hana. To this day she claims that our first date was really going “out as friends” but I think everyone knows that any hangout after matching on a dating app is considered a date. A few weeks later, we went out on a date again (out as friends in Amee’s opinion) for Korean BBQ which was an amazing date, and I think feelings started to pour. Over the coming days and weeks, I’d go visit Amee at her apartment (she lived on the 9th floor of our current building), and I loved her down-to-earth personality, and of course her most amazing cooking. We became an official couple in December 2021, and the rest is history. Love you, Amee!

For all the days along the way
