Atlantic Baking Co.
One of Tara's favorite bakeries, also very close to Ruckus Donuts and the Rockland Breakwater. Highly recommend the bacon cheddar scallion scone.
Bagel Mainea
One of our favorite bagel places. Great bagels & cream cheese or bagel breakfast sandwiches or bagel lunch sandwiches. You can't go wrong. Hours vary, they sell out almost daily. Eric can't get enough of it.
The Bankery & Skowhegan Fleuriste
Everything is good, but the Paris brest made here is divine.
Belfast Harbor Walk
One of our favorite walks. This is the first place I took Eric to in Maine and where he proposed. It meanders along the Belfast harbor going through an active shipyard with the occasional chance to spot a seal or an otter in the water.
Belfast Rail Trail
If you want a long walk the Belfast Harbor Walk continues onto this 4.2 mile round trip trail following the old rail line up the river.
Belleville
A croissanterie. The best croissants of your life. They sell out almost instantly so be there when they open or preorder. Highly recommend the almond croissants.

Serves breakfast and lunch takeout or eat in, unique choices and great coffee.

Camden Hills State Park
This is one of my favorite places to hike nearby. Almost every small mountain has a view of the sea. In the summer there's a road on Mount Battie you can drive up, but in the winter it's walking only. Park rangers year round with a fee for entrance at the Mount Battie entrance.
The Camden Snow Bowl
A small alpine ski center with some nordic trails and a toboggan chute. Toboggan championships held yearly, this year February 3-5.
Candy Hollow
Amazing homemade fudge weekly and lots of retro candy.
Chadwick’s Craft Spirits
Local made maple whiskey. Hours vary.
Cushnoc Brewing Co. Annex
Great beer, also see their restaurant in town Augusta.
Darby's
The first restaurant I took Eric to. A classic pub in the heart of Belfast's downtown.
Delvino's Grill & Pasta House
Great Italian restaurant in Belfast.
Farnsworth Art Museum
Features a lot of the Wyeth family artwork.
Greg's Place
One of my favorite greasy spoon diners in the area. Closed on Tuesdays, cash only. Looks sketchy but super good food and tons of locals. Sometimes hard to find a table.
Haystack Mountain
A super local, short hike with rewarding views.
Hifi Donuts
This place has a fantastic variety, sells out of popular flavors early.
Holy Cannoli
Our favorite item are the lobster tails (no lobster included), but great cannoli, cheesecake, and lemon bars as well.
The Holy Donut
Great potato based donuts. Highly recommend the cannoli donuts if you can get them. They sell out daily, multiple locations, gluten & vegan options.

John's Ice Cream Factory
I've eaten a lot of ice cream in my lifetime and this is still my all time favorite. We love a coffee ice cream sundae with homemade hot fudge, peanuts, whipped cream, and a cherry.
Lake St.George Brewing Company
The most local brewery with a great taproom and in the summer an amazing patio. Friday night is trivia night and it packs out with a super competitive vibe and usually a food truck.
Laugh Loud Smile Big
Amazing cupcakes in fantastic flavors like hot chocolate, raspberry filled, lemon curd filled, peanut butter cup....the cupcake bar changes weekly. Downtown Camden and sometimes they have gluten free options.
Lion's Den Tavern
Good food and drinks.
Lori's Cafe
Frequently they are closed for a time period in the winter, but if they're open they have great local food, reasonable prices.
Lucky Garden
Our favorite Chinese place that has a small all you can eat buffet at lunch that's high quality.

A great local takeout with pizza, sandwiches, and baked goods. We love the Greek pizza.

Craft brewery on the Belfast harbor.
Meridians: The Restaurant
Upscale restaurant that features farm to table and unique cocktails.
Messalonskee Stream Trail
A beautiful trail on the Waterville/Oakland line.
Mr. Drew and His Animals, Too
Monday-Saturday tours 10am-3pm of their reptile rescue - lots of snakes, tortoises, and lizards as well as a geology section upstairs. Your tour guide will take out some select critters to hold or pet. Kids love it, but great for adults too - always learn something new.
The Only Doughnut
Some good cake donuts and on Fridays they make brioche donuts.
Owls Head Transportation Museum
Transportation museum with lots of big displays including cars, planes, etc.
Palermo Preserve
Small local trail along a stream. Well marked but typically low human traffic.
Portland Museum of Art
Nice art museum in the heart of Portland.
Red Curry
It looks super sketchy, but trust me when I say the food is delicious.
Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse
One of my favorite walks. It can be cold and blustery and a wee icy in the winter, but far less people that any other time of year. A walk on a stone breakwater 0.84 mile into the ocean with lots of sea birds, the turn around is a lighthouse, and occasional chance to spot a seal.

Ruckus Donuts
My. Favorite. Donuts. Ever. These buttermilk brioche donuts will melt in your mouth. The original is divine and then add lots of variations like maple bacon, caramel cream, Boston cream, etc. and you'll never forget it. They sell out daily and quickly so preorder >24 hrs before or show up when they open.
Sears Island
A gorgeous preserve that has a causeway out to an Island with small beaches and trails.
State Lunch
Unique menu with Asian fusion vibes and a spectacular cocktail menu.
Stone Tree Farm & Cidery
Lovely cidery & winery - check hours as they are limited in the winter.
Sunrise Bagel
Another fantastic bagel place with great bagels and cream cheese as well as sandwiches. They also have rotating bakery items.
Tobey's Grocery
Just down the road from my house. This is a local staple with gas, takeout, groceries, a meat counter, and bakery items. It can be very busy and a little chaotic, but lots of tasty stuff.
Traverse Coffee Co.
Great coffee, located in the heart of Hallowell near the river.
