COVID19 Update

As COVID persists we are continuing to re-evaluate the logistics of our wedding day, taking into consideration how to best celebrate while keeping the safety of our guests a priority. We will provide any updates as decisions are made regarding our May 29th, 2021 wedding date. We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we work to navigate this difficult and historic time for everyone involved. With love, Tara & Scott

How we met

First comes school, then comes MORE school, then comes marriage

After 4 years of undergrad at Michigan State University and Marquette University, Tara made a brief pitstop in Austin, Texas where she worked in digital marketing (perusing Twitter while juggling Yoga sessions with daily happy hours) and Scott quietly pursued a career as a child care professional (Male nanny) in the suburbs of Milwaukee (pondering the realistic chances that he would never have to actually work). We eventually both decided our love of standardized tests and homework hadn't been fully satisfied and took our talents to Mount Pleasant, Michigan to become physicians. As fate will have it, we were placed in the same small group for the entirety of the first year and became immediate friends as we suffered through the ever-painful lessons of learning medicine. The more time we spent with each other, the deeper we fell in love surprising ourselves with how we had made it this far without the support of the other. From Mt. Pleasant to Saginaw to Gaylord and Tawas and whatever far reach of Michigan medical school took us, our love continued to grow and distance only made our relationship stronger.

The Proposal!!

August 21st, 2018

Our first vacation as resident physicians brought us to Cape Cod where we spent 3 days on Martha's Vineyard, a place we had always dreamed of visiting. We decided to spend one night in Aquinnah, a remote part of the island where the beautiful Gay Head Cliffs were located. Tara must've suspected something was brewing as she woke up at 6am that day to go on a 3 mile run, something she never does on vacation (wake up at 6am that is)! We spent a beautiful day at the beach and at sunset, went for a picturesque beach stroll for a picnic. At that time, Scott mustered the courage to get down on one knee and propose to the woman of his dreams. While the question may not have been a complete surprise, the secret photographer hiding behind the dune grass was! We were so happy that not even the seagulls that had ravaged our cheese, crackers and belongings could detract from the moment.
