Where do we park?
Answer
There is ample parking in front of the lodge’s main entrance. Parking is free.
Question
What should I wear?
Answer
Whatever you’re comfortable in that is semi-formal. The average temperature in Bedford, VA in September is between 58 and 78 degrees.

Can we stay at the lodge?
Answer
Of course! We have a room block at the lodge if you’d like to stay on-site the night before or of the wedding. Just call Peaks of Otter Lodge at 866-387-9905 and request to reserve a room for the McCarthy/Bradley wedding. The discounted rate is $199 per night. The deadline to reserve a room at the lodge is August 22nd, 2023. Deposit of the first night’s rate plus taxes and a Blueridge Parkway donation are required at the time of booking. There are pet-friendly rooms available.

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?
Answer
We have 2 lovely photographers who will work their magic during the ceremony. Please do not take pictures with your personal phones at that time. Feel free to take pictures at any other time during the wedding!

Is there WiFi?
Answer
There is wifi at the lodge but it is quite slow due to the location being along a mountain ridge. The cell signal at the lodge is also pretty slow. Your GPS/phone directions will still work to get you there.

Will Molly be changing her last name?
Answer
I get this question a lot so I figured I’d just explain the matter here. I will NOT be changing my last name to Bradley. I went to school for 21 years and earned my doctorate with the last name McCarthy. I will also be the first doctor in the family. To honor these things, I’m keeping my last name. We don’t think the whole name change thing is that important, anyway!

Can we bring cards/gifts?
Answer
Your presence is the only truly meaningful gift to us on our wedding day. If you choose to bring a little extra, there will be a table set up for cards and gifts. We also have a registry link here on our site which you can use to send gifts directly to our house if this is easier.
Question
Can I do a toast/speech?
Answer
If you’d like to say a little something to the couple, please let one of them know. These will take place after dinner, before the cake is cut. Please keep the toast short and sweet, we love you but want to eat cake and party!
