Madison and I met when we were both young. I remember going to the neighborhood pool with my brothers and stumbling upon her. A friend of ours had taken her there and I couldn’t help but notice her. When we all decided to hang out and talk, I would make jokes just to look and see if she was laughing at them. Fast forward a few weeks and we were hanging out at the pool again making corny jokes about suntan lotion and lizards. As the summer continued, I knew she was going to be in my life for a while. As we dated and grew up together in high school, we both had a sense our relationship wasn’t going to be one that ended when we both headed off to college. Now we are both college graduates and cant wait to see what our future holds.
Due to us going to two different colleges about 4 hours away from each other, I knew I had to plan a proposal during our winter break. I decided to plan a little spa trip to start the day and Madison got her nails done/painted for our “dinner date” later that evening. After getting her nails done, I told her we had a day trip planned in the galleria and would get dinner there as well. Along the way to our reservation, I took a “wrong turn” to bring us to the Waterwall in Houston to take a few pictures. From there, our friend was hiding with a camera as I was wearing a jacket in 80-degree weather to hide the ring! (my excuse was I didn’t wanna get wet…). Once we were at the waterfall wall, I got there on one knee and popped the question! And of course, she said yes!
