There is no airport on St. John. One must fly into St. Thomas (STT). From the airport, take a taxi to one of the ferry docks. Which dock will depend on when your flight lands. There is one direct flight out of PHL on American per day. It is 3.5 hours in the air. Once you have your flight purchased, please reach out to our wedding planner if you want advice on taxi and ferry options.

St. Thomas Taxi Services
You will need to utilize a taxi to get to whichever ferry dock you determine is best. The taxis are 16 passenger and are located directly outside of the baggage claim area. You simply walk up to whomever looks like they are in charge and tell them what ferry location you need - Red Hook, Charlotte Amalie or Crown Bay. You will need to pay in cash. The per person cost is $17-$20 plus $4 per suitcase plus tip. So count on $25 per person cash to get to the ferry dock. If you are staying at the Westin, it may have a private taxi or ferry. Check with the Westin for arrangements.

Ferry - Red Hook, Crown Bay or Charlotte Amalie
Depending on which ferry works best for you, you will pay the ferry fare upon arrival at the dock as follows: Red Hook Ferry - purchase at the ferry terminal; $11/pp one way. Credit cards accepted. Crown Bay Ferry - can purchase upon arrival or online. Credit cards accepted. Charlotte Amalie Ferry - this is a new ferry service. Have not taken before.

Grande Bay Resort
This is the condo complex in which we stay. You can find many units on VRBO or you can contact Crandall on St. John (http://www.crandallonstjohn.com) to check availability. Grande Bay has studios, 1BR, 2BR and 3BR accommodations. Except for the Studios, all have a full kitchen. Most studios have a full refrigerator (check the listing) and a plug in burner. There is a grocery store about .5 miles away or you can have someone deliver groceries to your unit. Groceries are very expensive on this tiny island with not a great selection. Consider packing some groceries.

The Westin is a villa timeshare property affiliated with Marriott. The property is gorgeous and there are a variety of options. It is a 5 minute cab ride to downtown Cruz Bay. Please see their website for more information.

Estate Lindholm
This bed and breakfast is on the outskirts of town. It would require a taxi ride to access downtown. Having said that, it looks like a beautiful place and its location overlooking the Caribbean and St. Thomas is amazing.

If you stay in Cruz Bay, a vehicle is optional. If you stay outside of Cruz Bay or want to explore the island, you may want to consider renting a Jeep. Some properties also provide a rental Jeep option. There are several rental companies on STJ.
