The Story of Us

As told by Tiffany

They started as co-workers, then became friends. Tiffany knew what she was signing up for. Daniel had a few surprises ahead of him. They balance each other and understand each other. They are best friends that don’t take life too seriously. They both love to laugh and take it easy. In a hug, they knew that was it. Within the first month, Daniel told Tiffany that he would marry her one day. Almost five years later he asked...

The Story of Us

As told by Daniel

It was a hug and I liked it. And then I went away and sent you texts in an airport in Birmingham with a hobo behind me. And then I came back. And then you laughed at me. I was going to propose that you be my girlfriend and I didn't. and that was a good idea in hindsight because you would not have liked it, it would have been weird. Our first date was orchard supply hardware, olive garden, a kiss I guess. And you had your bus. For fun we work, it seems like. Its not really fun, its just work. I enjoy hanging out with you watching tv. maxin and relaxin all cool. I love you and I like you and we living happily ever after.

How he Proposed!

As told by Tiffany

Tiffany saw it coming.. sort of. Daniel very uncharacteristically cared about plans for Fourth of July. Family members were strangely excited for Tiffany to have fun on the Fourth. Tiffany thought she saw her dad calling and Daniel said it was work but didn’t answer, flipped the phone over, and said don’t worry about it. Tiffany thought she had it all figured out. July 4, 2017 at Stanislaus State University, the firework show finale was happening... Nothing happened. As they were walkingback to the car, Tiffany couldn’t help herself and asked who it was that called the other night. Tiffany then shared more and more of how she thought she had it figured out. She was clear that she was not disappointed, just thought she was clever. There was an hour long wait to get out of the parking lot. As Tiffany was going on and on about all the clues she thought she saw, Daniel said “you're my best friend” which they regularly say to each other, so Tiffany responded “that I ever had.” Daniel said, “no seriously, your my best friend. I wouldn’t have anyone else in the world suck on my chin. Will you marry me?” Then he popped open the dash console and there was the ring. Of course immediately Tiffany was balling like a baby. And said repeatedly yes! Further explanation: It WAS my dad calling, Daniel was trying to get ahold of him to ask permission. “I wouldn’t have anyone else in the world suck on my chin” Daniel had just shaved his goatee and Tiffany’s response was your chin is so smooth I just want to suck on it!

How I Proposed

As told by Daniel

I had the ring made. I don't know, I liked the ring lets put that stone there and then do that, with the shape of the stone you wanted. Rose gold the color you wanted. They didn't have it on eBay. I'll tell you everything, so.. when I got the ring it was two weeks before your family started buggin me about it, which made it harder because I was already going to do it but they kept nagging me anyway. I wanted to do it on a day I would remember so I decided to do it on the 4th of July. Austin knew about it first for about two weeks. They kept messing up the ring. I had to send it back twice. At your mom's birthday I finally told your mom and Katelyn because they wouldn't stop nagging me about it so I told them I was going to do it that week. Then I was like "Hey let's go to this thing" trying to be all slick. I went to your Dad's a few days before to ask for permission and he wasn't there. Then I called and he didn't answer. Then he called at the wrong time when you were right there. Then I called him the next day and had to ask him on the phone and he said, "yeah, I guess" But I tried!! Anyway, we went there (stan state) and we set up but I couldn't get the ring because you wouldn't leave me alone, meaning you were right there. I said I had to go use the bathroom, and couldn't find the car. So I went back and it was weird because I knew you knew. So at the end, of the show that is, we packed up everything and I planned on taking you to OSH and asking you where we had our first kiss, But it didn't look like we were leaving the parking lot. So I said, "you're my best friend" and you said, "oh you're my best friend" I said, "No, seriously. You're my best friend and I wouldn't have anyone else suck on my chin." And I said I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you. Then I said would you do it and I popped the thing, and there was the ring. And I really didn't think you were expecting it. And then we were engaged. The End. No more stories.

Our Song

Song No. 3

On the way to Stanislaus State University for the fireworks show, (that Tiffany was sure was going to be the night he proposed) Daniel wanted to share Stone Sours new album with Tiffany. Specifically Song No. 3. After it played, Daniel explained the lyric “did I save you, because I know you saved me too.” Because Tiffany always tells Daniel he saved her, he’s her biggest supporter, her reality check, her light hearted safe place. But he said even though she is the one who always says that, that she is the one who saved him. Tiffany can’t listen to the song without tearing up.
