Way back in 2016 Gavin boarded his plane to go visit family in Taiwan. Talia, living in Taiwan, didn’t know that Gavin would be visiting her congregation soon. When they did meet it was quite uneventful, they met at the Kingdom Hall and saw eachother once again before Gavin returned home. Now that their families were friends they would keep in contact a little & Gavin and Talia were aware that each other existed but never thought much of it. Fast forward to the pandemic when their moms were on a Zoom Call doing service, and Gavin caught a glimpse of Talia walk by the camera. Immediately he found a way to join one of her service groups on Zoom and before they knew it this was a common occurrence. Gavin fit right in with Talia’s friends; so Zoom Service, Movie Nights, and hangouts became part of both of their schedules. Soon Gavin’s friends were Talia’s friends and vice versa. Friends on both sides kept telling them how compatible they would be, but both of them knew they had goals to focus on before they wanted to pursue a relationship. Their friendship kept progressing and eventually them and their friends even went on vacations together. As they continued their friendship it became clear that their goals aligned and they were just as compatible as their friends kept telling them. Gavin was making monthly trips to visit Talia in her new home, New York, and they both saw a future here for them, so after dating a few months Gavin moved to New York! Now we get to work alongside each other in our assignments and continue our friendship forever ;)
