We went to Italy for a 10 day trip around Florence, Venice, and Rome in September 2021. We had a day trip to Cinque Terra (the five towns). After stuffing our faces with pesto, seafood pasta, bread, and white wine, we glided down from the train to our final stop, the small beachy town of Monterosso. Anyone who knows me knows that I tend to be very clumsy and do not pick up on hints very well. We went to a certain portion of the beach with the most scenery, and I was SO excited to see the ocean again, that I immediately ripped off my clothes with my bathing suit underneath and dove into the waves. I was quickly knocked down by a wave and fell on my behind. My hair was soaking wet, and I was a tad discombobulated. Tommy remembers looking at one of our friends on the trip, laughing with him, and proceeded to pull me over to the side with the most scenery. He embraces my hands with his, gets down on one knee, and pops the question! At this time, I was so shocked that A. I may have dampened the moment by rushing into the waves so quickly, and B. This was IT! The love of my life is proposing. I immediately said YES and when I was about to cry from excitement, I remember everyone around us was cheering, and even the people on the road area from above. This was easily one of the best days of my life.
Sydney and I met back in the Summer of 2018. I was newly moved into my first place when I met Sydney. She was on one of her rotations for PA school that placed her in Wilson, NC. We went on our first date at a Sonic drive-thru and Sydney climbed into my Jeep and we ate popcorn chicken and a cookie dough milkshakes. We talked and laughed for a few hours like we knew each-other forever. We both parted ways that night feeling like there was something special ahead. Fast forward to present day and you’ll find that we now live happily ever after together in a cozy house with our two adorable Brussels Griffons in Fuquay-Varina, NC.
