Mission San Juan Capistrano was permanently founded by Junipero Serra on November 1, 1776, as the seventh of 21 missions to be established in California by the Spanish. This beautiful landmark is filled with SO much history and is an incredible place to visit!
The majestic cliffs and the south-facing beaches of Dana Point were an attraction to the tall ships during the cowhide trading days of the 1830s due to the location of the mission. But the idea of building a small boat harbor became necessary.
This is our favorite beach! We spent most of our time down here during the earlier years of our relationship.
Crystal Cove State Park has 3.2 miles of beach and 2,400 acres of undeveloped woodland. This is a big part of its enduring popularity as a leading California destination for camping, hiking, and horseback riding. It is gorgeous and breathtaking!
