Mother & Father of the Bride
Scott and Donna met in Fort Lauderdale and moved to California to finish their education of Scott perusing his dream of becoming a Dr. of Chiropractic, while Donna finished Electrical Engineering. They just celebrated their 31st anniversary and raised two beautiful daughters in San Diego. But enough of us, let’s get to the important stuff, Sydney and Mathew! We are so incredibly proud of Sydney and very much look forward to having Mathew become part of our family. We are truly blessed! We can’t wait for your wonderful wedding day and celebrating it with both of you!
Mother & Father of the Groom
Jeff & Marianne grew up in Ventura one mile apart but attended different schools until college. They have been together ever since crossing paths in college. Jeff is involved is real estate and venture capital and enjoys walks on the beach. Marianne worked in insurance claims until deciding to be a full-time mother, her favorite job. She loves reading, playing games, animals and travel.
Maid of Honor
Hey my name is Arielle, I manage a UPS store that my family owns in Oceanside. I enjoy the nerdy things in life; anime, Dungeons & Dragons, and dad jokes. I met Sydney 18 years ago in middle school where we bonded over our nerdy interests and hating elementary school. I love this beautiful lady and I'm so honored to stand beside her on the start of her next adventure. Love you Syd, break a leg (but not actually it would be difficult to find a matching shoe before the wedding).
Best Man
I'm Mike Tensfeldt. I enjoy fantasy, hijinks, and playing Devil's Advocate against whatever Matthew's current opinion is. I have known Matthew since the Victorian era, or at least from the era when he was wearing top hats. We got along immediately because we're both pretty odd fellows, and I guess I've done a good job of being his friend because I'm his best man. I'm so happy Matthew found someone as special as Sydney and can't wait to celebrate their marriage.
Bridesmaid
I'm Katie Tensfeldt. I'm a software engineer originally from Ontario, CA (North County convert now). When I'm not "doing the codes", I enjoy yoga, and sampling local breweries. I met Sydney and Matthew in the middle of a dance circle at the same wedding I met my husband Mike, the professional best man. Over the past few years, I've become good friends with Sydney and Matthew, and am excited to celebrate their big day!
Groomsman
Hey I'm Matthew G, but mostly known as Garrett. I met (Matthew) Maichen back in Mira Costa where we bonded over the belief that Mike Tensfeldt would either destroy or save the world. I'm a big fan of cooking and a good adventure. Since the days of yore, Maichen has been a constant angel on my shoulder, trying to temper my impulses with sound and sensible advice. The jury is still out on if any of it has worked, but he has definitely helped shape me into a better man. I'm ecstatic that he has found someone as special as Sydney to share his life with. I wish them both the best and I want to remind Maichen, "If you can't believe in yourself, believe in the Garrett that believes in you."
Bridesmaid
Hi, my name is Jamie and I am Sydney’s sister. I am your stereotypical overactive younger sibling who greatly annoyed my sister growing up. Over the years I have had the pleasure of watching her grow into the woman she is today. Sydney is one of the most kind and empathetic people I have ever met, and I am very excited to send her and Mathew off in style. See you all at the wedding!
Groomsman
I'm a San Diegan in exile, now a denizen of Eugene, Oregon. I have a profound love of the eclectic which underscores a large part of my friendship with Matthew. We have undertaken many adventures over the years between our real, digital, and imaginary lives. Many of those have been self-inflicted, ill-advised, and absurd but they have forged us in a crucible made of nonsense. I am honored to have a role in the opening act of this next grand excursion for Matthew and Sydney.
Maid of Honor
I am a San Francisco based artist who creates comics, dark arts, and patterns for products printing. Simply put I’m the one who shows up to things and makes things weird, in a very good and fun way! The first time I met Sydney we were all crammed in a hotel room, her, Arielle, their exes, and me, and we’re all going to anime expo in LA. This was the funny foundation that our friendship started from. We built many traditions and many memories from there. One of my favorite traditions we used to have back in college was every Thursday we would always meet up at California pizza kitchen and eat good food and just scream, cry and laugh about how crazy our week was. I truly don’t think I could’ve survived those long school weeks without these dinners.

What’s your deal? Well, my grandparents moved from India to Long Beach when my dad was a kid, and my grandfather on my mom’s side is from Britain. So naturally, I speak German. What do you like? Surfing, sailing, cooking, reading, film, finding new music, and everything Halloween. What are some interesting facts? Clueless is one of my favorite films of all time. I was also in the Sea Scouts – which is way cooler than Boy Scouts. How do you know Matthew? Matthew and I went to Chapman together, where our friendship was formed over our shared disinclination for sleep and a passion for talking about anything and everything. Matthew one of my most cherished friends - I am so proud of the person he has become over the years. Any parting thoughts? Here’s to the adventure that awaits you both!
