We're getting married!

Sydney had almost completely written off dating in college until her roommate suggested making a dating app account (and supervised to make sure she actually did it). It wasn't long before Forrest gave Sydney a "Super Like" and asked her out to coffee. A quick date turned into a four-hour conversation — the two clearly hit it off. Between their interests in writing, the outdoors, and the importance of family, they were destined to go on many adventures together. Those adventures came quickly as their relationship continued to grow, from Oregon to Michigan (and over again). With each cooking experiment and Lego video game night, they fell more in love. Forrest’s endless curiosity and philosophical questions kept Sydney on her toes while she entertained him with bizarre medieval stories. In 2021, they adopted a furry member of their new family: Indy, a mini goldendoodle with a big heart. The three of them go on hikes, try new food, and meet new friends — dog and human alike. Soon after adopting Indy, the trio moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan to start a new journey. Sydney is working to earn a PhD in medieval literature while Forrest works remotely for his Oregon marketing job. But the two still find time for plenty of fun, from exploring dog-friendly breweries to catching a movie at their favorite theater. Though in Michigan for now, the two look forward to what their next chapter will bring, making memories together and with their loving family and friends.

In May 2022, Sydney and Forrest’s adventures took them to Disneyland. As they walked by Sleeping Beauty's Castle, Forrest sneaked the ring box into his pocket (Syd, of course, was distracted by something vaguely medieval) and suggested they get their picture taken. After a few snaps, Forrest said, "Wait, I have one more pose," knelt on one knee, and told her he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Blurry-eyed and grinning goofily, Sydney nodded "Yes" to happily ever after, and they were engaged! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in October!
