One November day, Dakota was traveling to Illinois for an hunting trip and Sydney was working in the Emergency Department. Dakota happened to be passing through Sydney's hometown of Murfreesboro, TN when they both were scrolling on the dating app "Hinge". Kota "Liked" Sydney first to get her attention. Sydney fell for the trap of an attractive man with a bunch of hunting pictures on his dating app profile and messaged him first within the first 24 hours of matching on the app!!! Sydney decided to start off the conversation talking about deer hunting, Dakota's first response to Sydney was "What size ring you wear?". Kota living in Alabama and Sydney living in Tennessee, somehow met on this silly dating app but made it a priority to go on a date. Ever since the first date we knew that we were made for each other. No matter the distance, no matter how many people doubted us and thought we were crazy, we were determined to do anything to make this relationship work.
We were headed to Tennessee Memories Wedding Venue to look at some land that our best friends were planning to buy and build on. The plan was to look at the land and then go on a double date to a nice restaurant. When we pulled in, I had noticed we were the first ones there. Dakota proceeded to get out of the truck, so I did as well and as I was checking my friends location we began walking up to the screened in barn area. We got to the sliding barn doors, as Kota looked at me and smiled he slid open the doors and the setup was a DREAM. We walked up to the decorated arbor and Kota got down on one knee. There was an entire outfit change setup with a white dress, shoes, and jewelry for our engagement photo session afterwards. After the engagement session, we got in the truck and headed back to town, however Kota would not tell me where we were going. After a 30 minute long drive that felt like an hour due to all of the exciting emotions, we pulled into Bonefish Grill to celebrate. Expecting it to only be the two of us eating lunch, we arrive to my family and Dakota's family from Alabama all joining together to celebrate this memorable moment with us! July 2, 2023 was nothing short of amazing and I cannot wait to see what our future holds! Thank you for being apart of our big day, we're so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you! #WorthenTheWait
