We met during our intern year on the romantic floors of Saint Mary's Hospital. I mean with that sterile backdrop, how could love not blossom?! As co-interns on the Medicine 4 Team, we often saw each other 12 hours/day, 6 days/week for 1 month. The days were long and the work seemed never-ending. As we forged ahead, we developed mutual respect for one another as physicians and a deep rooted trust as colleagues. We quickly discovered our love of competitive banter. Our constant wisecracks surely annoyed those around us and led most people to think we couldn't stand each other! Though our month working together in the hospital came to an end, our friendship continued to grow stronger each day... ...until the day we decided that we wanted more.
