We met at a mutual friend's pre-game, which led to dancing at a tiny club. Sumeet approved of Jiaona's dance moves; Jiaona approved of his boyish good looks. And then nothing happened. Sumeet's long-haired phase came and went. Three years later, the same mutual friend threw a birthday party, where Sumeet decided to challenge Jiaona to a dance-off. A refusal to go to a dark corner later, we parted ways. Two months later, we had an epic night of dancing at the one and only Bootie SF. The rest is history.

Sumeet somehow convinced Jiaona to get ready and put on a dress to go to his friend's "surprise birthday party" at a rooftop lounge. This was met with great reluctance, given that they were one episode shy of finishing Season 2 of Stranger Things. Upon arriving at the party and seeing that they were the first ones there, Jiaona's disgruntlement only grew. Sumeet breathed a sigh of relief and knew she had no idea what was coming. As he started to give his speech, Jiaona still didn't know what was happening and interrupted him to point out the epically full moon. After Sumeet finally got her to focus, she realized that he was proposing (!) — and promptly blacked out (good thing he had written it down). After she said yes, both families walked in to a flood of happy tears and celebratory champagne!
