We met at a beautiful castello in the Umbria region of Italy, where our friends (and now officiant) Sean and Gabri were getting married. After months of talking on the phone, texting, and sending books, postcards, and martini supplies to each other, we decided to take a leap of faith and meet in the middle: Chicago. We then spent a year commuting between Seattle, Washington and Washington, D.C. Our shared love of travel brought us back to Italy one year after we met. Despite getting sick together in Milan, long travel days, and repeatedly struggling to haul luggage over cobblestones and up multiple flights of stairs, we still always finished our days with a smile and an aperol spritz (or a few). That's when we knew that we would have many adventures together and that we had found our forever partners in each other. This fall we yet again decided to meet in the middle but this time permanently. One Sunday morning, while we were in Chicago finding our new home, Mike proposed over breakfast. Italy is where we met and where we took our first big trip together - we can’t imagine a more magical place to celebrate our wedding with our friends and family.
