Let me preface our story with a few details that will help give some context. Kevin and I both had a very serious outlook on dating. To us it was more than a fun thing to do. Dating was to lead to marriage. It was important to us to include God and our parents in this process. God wrote a beautiful love story for us, and I believe it is because we tried our best to follow Him, honor Him, and keep Him the central focus of our relationship. We had our parents approval and support of our marriage. Together with our parents, we all felt that God was in this relationship, and had aligned our paths to now become one. Me & Kevin met through mutual friends. Neither of us knew how much we would adore each other. When he picked me up for the first date I met the most cutest boy with the biggest smile. I was so so nervous for this date, but his smile warmed me & I felt like I have known this man forever. He had the kind of smile that lights up a room & you can’t help but smile back. We drove for an hour to this Hiking Spot & it was never awkward. We talked & laughed.. & I was hooked. Before I tell this next part, we all know Kevin loves the gym, very fit. Me? I don’t know.. but this hike tested me. I tell Kevin even now, that was my test from him. This hike was HARD! First date, first time meeting him, & I am so sweaty, out of breathe, and about to pass out. While Kevin is just running up this hike with no effects. After the hike we went to this festival & got our picture drawn, got some ice cream. We later went to a Korean Sweet’s place & sat on the back of his truck watching the sunset. He was definitely a romantic. & I thought I was in a dream. As soon as he dropped me off that night, we never went a day without seeing each-other that summer. We spent every day, second, loving each others company. During this time my mom was battling Brain Cancer. The time spent with my mom was my #1 priority. Instead of Kevin doing something else.. he stayed with me & my mom. He wanted to be there. He helped me & my family through such a difficult time in our lives. My mother got to meet the man I fell in love with, and also love him as a son. I will forever cherish that summer with Kevin. After the summer, Kevin moved back to school. We tried to see each other at least twice a month. I could gush on and on about sweet details, but I do not wish to bore you. God continued to knit our hearts together, and we fell deeper and deeper in love. Countless trips back & forth. When he was here one weekend, he asked my mom, dad, & grandparents for their blessing. Of course I said “Yes!” We will be married May 26th, 2025!
