We’re getting married!

Two years ago, in the middle of the pandemic, both Caroline and Micah found themselves on Hinge (a dating app). One evening, Caroline came across Micah’s very handsome profile. After a glance or two she sent him a “like” and he responded that morning with a simple “Hey, how’s it going” and they haven’t stopped texting since.

On a beautiful summer evening, Micah and Caroline met up in Old Town Alexandria for dinner at Landini Brothers. Micah remembers how nervous he was the moment he finally saw how beautiful Caroline was in person. Once they met up, they went to dinner and got rid of the first date nerves with sparks flying over calamari and pasta. Once they finished dinner, neither of them wanted to end the date yet, so Caroline asked Micah if he wanted to stop for Ben and Jerry's on the way out. They enjoyed their ice cream on a park bench on the Alexandria waterfront and spent the rest of the night talking, flirting, and completely falling for each other. They noticed the sky was pitch black and the park was empty, so Micah decided to check the time and saw it was almost midnight. Time had completely slipped past them as they had spent the past five hours with completely uninterrupted talking and getting to know each other. After laughing about how long they had spent in that park, Micah felt they should call it a night and they both went home on cloud nine. They were completely hooked on each other and made every effort to keep seeing each other, and "the rest is history"!

Fast forward to Friday, August 13th, 2021. Micah told Caroline he was taking her to dinner to celebrate 11 months together. He wouldn't tell her where dinner was but that reservations were at 6:30pm and she could NOT be late this time. He took her to Lake Anne in Reston, VA. Of course, once they arrived to the spot, it started to rain! Micah and Caroline quickly moved down the path where Micah said the restaurant was. After walking about a quarter mile in the rain, Caroline realized there was no restaurant at the end, but a small bridge. Micah leaned over to Caroline on the bridge and said he had to ask her something, but she can't cry (wishful thinking). He then got down on one knee and asked Caroline to marry him. Without hesitation, and through LOTS of tears of joy, she said yes! Friday the 13th has a whole new meaning now!
