Caroline and Kevin met in early 2016. Caroline moved to Northern VA for graduate school the previous summer and Kevin was living close by in Arlington with some friends. One weekend, Caroline's friend from high school was visiting and introduced her to some guys she knew from college. Of course, Kevin was one of those guys :). Caroline and Kevin started out as friends, but they soon became more after Kevin finally asked her on their first date in November 2016. They made things official in February 2017 and the rest is history... :)

In March 2022, Kevin told Caroline they had tickets to go to the top of the Washington Monument for his dad's birthday. When the day came, it was super cold and snowing! They arrived near the Lincoln Memorial and began walking around in front of the Reflecting Pool. Kevin was taking his sweet time snapping pictures while Caroline was growing impatient thinking they needed to walk to meet his family. It was a quiet morning and the area was fairly empty (again, it was cold and snowy). As Caroline turned to walk towards the Monument, Kevin said her name. She turned around and Kevin was on one knee and popped the question. He then said, "By the way, that person over there is your cousin Katie." Caroline was shocked, in disbelief that her best friend secretly flew in from SC to capture the moment, and over the moon HAPPY to be engaged to Kevin!
