Question

Is New Orleans dangerous?

Answer

Yes, New Orleans is a wonderful city however, it is important to stay vigilant. We would recommend Ubering to locations after 9PM and traveling in groups when going to touristy areas such as Bourbon Street, especially if you're less than sober.

Question

What is a second line?

Answer

Second lines in New Orleans are an integral part of the city’s culture, steeped in history and tradition. These parades are a celebration of music, community, and the spirit of New Orleans, tracing their roots back to the city’s rich African American heritage. The second lines consist of a “main line” made up of the brass band and the wedding party. The “second line” refers to the other revealers and members of the public who join in the parade along the way. Participants wave handkerchiefs, napkins, or similar clothes. Handkerchiefs will be provided for you!!
