FAQs

Question

Where is the closest airport?

Answer

Bozeman airport is the closest airport to the wedding location (about a 40 minute drive). If you arrive late at night, we recommend staying in Bozeman at the AC Hotel or another downtown hotel. You can also fly into Jackson, WY, Billings, MT or Missoula, MT. All three are significantly longer drives but will show you the beauty of the area. You can fly into Helena, MT but it is a regional airport and may have limited flight options. We do not recommend flying into other Montana airports.

Question

What should we do while in Bozeman?

Answer

There are so many things to do in the Bozeman area, whether you're looking for good food, fun museums or, most popularly, to get outside. We highly recommend you spend some time in Yellowstone Park. Mammoth Hot Springs and the Lamar Valley are open year round, but Old Faithful should still be open around this time. If you're not feeling like interacting with Bison, we recommend perusing the shops in downtown Bozeman, visiting the Museum of the Rockies, hiking the M or checking out Big Sky.

Question

Do you have a room block?

Answer

We spent significant time researching and speaking to hotels about procuring a room block. We have a small room block in Bozeman (the AC Hotel) for those traveling in who wish to stay in Bozeman, but we determined that there would be no advantage to our guests by securing a room block in Livingston/Paradise Valley. Because there are so many options in Livingston and the Paradise Valley, we decided to make recommendations rather than suggesting one hotel. If you have questions about an accommodation or would like a recommendation, we are happy to help.

Question

Do I need a car?

Answer

Yes, you will almost certainly need a car. Taxis and rideshare aps have not yet become popular in Montana and there is little to no public transportation in Bozeman. You may be able to find a Lyft/Uber in Bozeman, but it will be very limited in Livingston so please plan accordingly.

Question

What if we want to stay in Montana before or after the wedding?

Answer

Montana has so much to offer at any time of year, but October is considered a shoulder season for outdoor activity. It is possible to experience inclement weather at any time of the year, but it is not out of the ordinary to get snow in October so plan accordingly. If you're interested in exploring, Erica's family is from the Bitterroot Valley and she recommends both her hometown and the Flathead Valley (and Glacier National Park) if you want to see other parts of Montana.

Question

What will the weather be like? What should we wear?

Answer

It is very likely to be pleasant fall weather with the highs in the 50s. While we anticipate it being warm enough to enjoy the outdoors during the day, Montana is a high desert and it can be quite cold at night and in the early morning. As always in Montana, it is possible to have snow, though if it does snow, it is unlikely to stick. The wedding will be indoors, but we recommend you prepare for the weather accordingly. A warm coat, hat, gloves, and warm socks/slippers are all recommended for those cold mornings/evenings.

Question

Me and/or my date have dietary restrictions. Who do we inform?

Answer

We are prepared to accommodate vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free diets. If you have additional restrictions, please inform our wedding planner, Heather Hagg.

Question

What if I need local childcare?

Answer

We have gathered resources for families who will need childcare during the wedding or later in the evening. Please reach out to our wedding planner, Heather Hagg and she can provide you with contact information. Children are included as part of the festivities.

Question

Do you watch Yellowstone? Where is Yellowstone filmed?

Answer

Yellowstone the television show is probably not as popular in Montana as it is in other corners of the country (it is not a particularly accurate portrayal of Montana living). Yellowstone is filmed in many parts of Montana (and Utah and Texas) but the primary filming locations in Montana are Darby, MT and the Paradise Valley (where Copper Rose Ranch is located).
