Alnwick Castle
Movies like Harry Potter, Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Amongst Thieves, and Transformers 5 (what?! How are there FIVE of them?) were filmed here. The Duke and Duchess of Northumberland still come to stay sometimes. Make sure to take the guided tours and see the stately rooms!
Farne Islands

Hadrian's Wall
If you're able to stay for a few days, you can see remnants of the wall and Roman forts that were built by the Romans in 122 AD to keep out the Scots. Check out Homestead for a particularly remarkable Roman fort. Do NOT miss the (Roman) toilets. We know that's a weird thing to recommend, but they're SO COOL.
Lindisfarne (Holy Island)
HOLY ISLAND HAS PUFFINS AND A CASTLE. C'MON.
