Run by Michelle's college roommate Jaimie, this bakery has everything you could want - pastries, sandwiches, coffee and tea drinks, and it's all gluten free! Jaimie specializes in dietary restrictions so there's truly something for everyone here.
DC is not far if you want to check out any restaurants there, but if you want to stay closer to the hotel, there are tons of restaurants and shops right in downtown Bethesda. Our favorites are Bethesda Bagels, Raku, Planta, and of course the Red Bandana Bakery!
Rock Creek Park is HUGE and spans much of DC and Maryland. It'll be a bit cold, but we love going on hikes here and taking in the scenery!
We live right around the corner from this park and love going there for walks, meeting up with friends, and to check out the drum circle on Sunday afternoons (sorry you'll have to miss that for the wedding!).
All of the Smithsonian museums are FREE and so much fun - but the American History Museum is Michelle's favorite. Don't miss the exhibit on first ladies!
When Michelle worked for Senator Mikulski, one of her biggest accomplishments was getting the Belmont-Paul Women's Equality National Monument into the National Park system. It's a great historical find, and has tons of history on women's suffrage and the fight for equal rights. If you plan to go, make sure you check out the hours as they are limited.
