We were new to the dating scene in 2016, but both knew that the internet had become the standard pathway to connect with others. So, we submitted our separate identities to the digital casting call. As Tara proceeded cautiously with one grainy photo of herself and with help from her daughter Avi coaching her on how to swipe left for no and right for yes they came across Steve who was a definite yes! Unfortunately the timing was off and after just three conversations Steve broke the bad news to Tara and opted to finish something he had started with another out of respect for all. Recognizing that this was not a common quality in most, Tara was enamored but disappointed of course. Fast forward four months and by then they were both on multiple dating sites, and every time Tara logged on, Steve popped up within minutes, but this time it was Tara’s turn to see where a connection would lead. Her parting words to Steve were... “Wouldn’t it be ironic if we were meant to be together?”. At last 3 months later finally it was our turn and we never looked back. God is persistent! He had a plan, and it was worth the wait! Since that first date in March, 2017, seven months after our first digital encounter, we started a date that will never end…..
February 14, 2018 It was our first Valentine’s Day and we were both excited. Love was in the air and the surprises kept coming. In the past for Tara it was a typical holiday that came and went with minimal frivolities. Being the hopeless romantic she is Steve’s efforts were not lost on her. Being a work day, the day started with Steve mentioning a few surprises were on the way and the first would be lunch at the Fountains, a dozen long stemmed roses and a beautiful card with an invitation to a fancy dinner that night. Tara was in heaven. After work Steve wisked her off to La Provence restaurant in Roseville which proved to be a huge surprise to Tara as shortly after appetizers were served, Steve ended up down on one knee with one big question... which had to be asked twice as Tara was overwhelmed with surprise and truly breathless. So with multiple quick nods and finally an audible YES! YES! YES! we then found ourselves surrounded by well wishers and applause as Steve placed the ring on Tara’s finger and sealed it with a kiss. And the fairytale lives on.....💏
