We're Getting Married!

We met at the first company we worked at after college. I met Erika when she transferred under the VP who managed us and my first impression was that she seemed super serious and hard to approach. Funny for the folks who know her but I think I was just intimidated (she does like speak her mind though!). One day I saw her in the break room with her bento box and I thought that was pretty cute for such a serious person. Through various work events, I saw that she was thoughtful, caring, sweet, and confident and that really drew me in. So I finally mustered up enough courage and asked Erika out to a movie. I'd say the first date was a smashing hit! (she remembers it differently) Apparently the excitement of running a red light, forgetting where I parked my car, and getting a first kiss wasn't the complete package. The point is that I got a second date and countless more and we were literally attached at the hip after that so I think I did pretty well! While driving back from Las Vegas, we talked about our dreams and aspirations and both of us wanted to live in a new state while we were young to experience life beyond LA. Not long after, we saved enough money to quit our jobs and moved together to Washington State without having a job lined up. After 5 years in Washington, I can firmly say that our love, trust, and support for each other helped us thrive.
