Our story

You met on Tinder?!

I (Emily) was on tinder looking for something more than a fling. I had swiped and swiped. On November 1st of 2020, I had come across Tyler’s profile. I screen recorded it and sent it to Heidi (one of my bridesmaids) asking if I should swipe right “he’s not my usual type but he’s so cute!!” Heidi said “Do it! What’s the worst that could happen? You don’t match, big deal!” With that, I agreed and swiped right! “IT’S A MATCH” I didn’t know what to do and I couldn’t message him first! A few hours later I got a notification “Tyler sent you a message” oh geez! I opened it and the first word he chose to say to me was “Howdy”. That was his opening line but apparently it worked because here we are 4 years later and I’m marrying him! Like I said we matched on November 1st but our first date was on November 24th. Between those two dates we talked nonstop, completely head over heels with one another. Our first date was at the IHOP in Lima when he had gotten off his 3rd shift job and I was getting ready to start my day. We spent 3 hours together that day and it would have been longer if my mom hadn’t called me home. Fast forward, we had gone on a double date to Clifton Mill to see Christmas lights and he asked me to be his girlfriend on December 15th, 2020. We spoke daily as much as we could with him working 3rds. I would stay up late to talk to him and he would loose sleep during the day to talk to me. Two months later and I couldn’t keep it to myself any longer, he was driving me home and I told him I loved him for the first time on February 7th, 2021. Of course he said it back after being in a little bit of shock. In the last 4 years we continue to be inseparable, we bought a house together, have been through job changes, gone on vacations and we have each created bonds with each others families, for him that’s one very questionable bromance with my brother! We are so excited to get married and see what else our futures have in store.
