Atlantic Beach
Located just 8 miles from Beaufort, Atlantic Beach is an amazing beach town! Surf, sand and fun are just the beginning at the Crystal Coast’s Atlantic Beach. Take advantage of one of the area’s popular fishing piers, where you can throw a line in or catch a wave off the break. Plus, rest easy that everything from the beach sand to the historic Fort Macon State Park is just a casual walk or bike ride away.

Beaufort Paddle offers Stand Up Paddle Board and kayak rentals, lessons, and tours in the Beaufort, North Carolina area. We have done this excursion and it is a great time and a beautiful way to explore the area!
The Beaufort Club
Located minutes outside of Downtown, Beaufort, this 18-hole Bob Moore designed course was recently voted a top 25 public golf course in North Carolina. Enjoy a full driving range, putting greens, five sets of tees, bent grass greens, and the best golf the Crystal Coast has to offer. Island Ferry Adventures
The ferry will drop you off at Carrot Island, which is part of the Rachel Carson Reserve, where you can spend an hour or the entire day enjoying the 1.1 mile trail looping through a variety of unique environments. Explore mudflats, uplands and salt marshes where over 200 species of birds, 52 species of fish, 47 species of invertebrates and more than 40 horses call home. Experience nature trails, horses, hiking and wildlife. This island connects to Bird Shoals where you can look for sand dollars. This is any nature lover’s dream realized with a great environment for bird watching enthusiasts or nature photographers. Enjoy scenic nature trails, horses, hiking, exploring wildlife and much more. Come prepared, there are lots of marsh areas. Wear shoes that can get muddy and always bring sunscreen and bug spray. Reservations for Carrot Island are not required, however you can contact us today to make a one. Rates $10/ adults (ages 12 & up) $5/ children (11 & under)
North Carolina Maritime Museum in Beaufort
The North Carolina Maritime Museum in Beaufort reflects coastal life and interprets lighthouses and lifesaving stations, the seafood industry, motorboats, and more. Studies in marine life, science, and ecology are available for all ages. The Beaufort museum is the repository for artifacts from Blackbeard’s wrecked flagship, Queen Anne’s Revenge, among them cannons, grenades, belt buckles and beads. The Harvey W. Smith Watercraft Center teaches boatbuilding for all ages. Monday – Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. | Sunday: noon to 5 p.m. Admission to both sites is free.

Beaufort's historic and altogether picturesque downtown is one of the most visited and most acclaimed town centers in the Inner Banks. Filled with a history that intermingles seamlessly with acclaimed shops and restaurants, (as well as front row views of the activity at the expansive harbor front docks), this otherwise typical Eastern North Carolina town has become a favorite among Inner Banks visitors.

Discovery Diving offers PADI's Discover Scuba Program that not only lets you try SCUBA to see if you like it, but also introduces you to the underwater sights North Carolina has to offer. While not an actual scuba certification, during the program, you’ll learn how to use scuba equipment in shallow water, get a quick and easy introduction to what diving is all about, and have a lot of fun! Visiting the NC coast and want a fun and exciting way to spend the day? Double Decker Bus Tour of Historic Downtown Beaufort
See Beaufort’s historic district from atop the 1967 English double-decker bus! Local narrators tell tales from Beaufort’s rich past of pirates, star-crossed lovers, and Confederate spies. Fort Macon State Park
Fort Macon State Park is centered on an impeccably restored pre-Civil War fort that offers daily guided tours and frequent cannon and musket demonstrations. Extensive exhibits educate visitors on fort history and the natural surroundings. The beach is perfect for swimming, beachcombing, or even spotting a dolphin or two. Trails traverse the salt marsh and dune fields and provide the opportunity to see one of the 300-plus species of birds found in the park.
