What is the Capitol Police Screening?

Answer

Don't be like us and try to squeak in right before the ceremony!! While not as intense as the airport (don't worry, you won't have to take your shoes off), the capitol is the most important public building in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania so be prepared to empty your pockets and walk through a metal detector before entering the Rotunda. Please plan to arrive with enough time to spare, as you may need to wait in line if there is only one Capitol Police officer on duty.

What is the parking situation?

Answer

All guests can park at the Harrisburg Hilton, which is less than two blocks from the Capitol Rotunda. Overnight guests have access to $10/night parking and day of guests can park for free in the Hilton garage for up to 10 hours.

How do I get to and from the ceremony and reception?

Answer

It is a 10-15 minute walk between the Hilton and the Rotunda (we will upload a map shortly!). If you'd prefer not to walk, there are Ubers and taxis available from the Hilton lobby. If you tell your driver 501 N. 3rd Street, you will be dropped off at the stairs directly in front of the main entrance. You can't miss it! :)
