Tonight began the start to our love story. Our very good friends, the Potockis, invited us over for a game night. We both had a bit of a crush on each other at this point so its easy to say we were excited to see where the evening would lead us.. Naturally, Stephen was leaving the next morning to head back to NC so this was our one chance to make a lasting impression. After a night full of laughs and new memories, we said our goodbyes and didn't know when we would see each other again. Fast forward to our first date, 2/18/17. Stephen flew home to spend a couple days together and see if the connection we felt over the last 6 weeks was worth pursuing. Clearly, it was!! Two years, hundreds of miles apart, plenty of hours on FaceTime, here we are. More happy than we could ever explain. We have found our forever, in each other, and we are so happy you are here to share this with us!
The boxes were full, the suitcases were exploding, the U-Haul was packed to the brim! We were officially moving Stephen back home to MI. On our last day in NC he casually suggested we take one last walk on the beach. To Elle, this was nothing out of the ordinary because it was one of the things we often did on visits to North Carolina. It was a beautiful sunny day. The beach was wide open. After about a half mile walk Stephen started to talk about all of the amazing experiences and memories he's made over the last 10 years in North Carolina, meeting new friends, showing his new home to family that visited, and sharing a special chapter of his life with Elle while living there. Stephen then asked Gabrielle if we could make one more memory, together. It was a memory we will cherish for a lifetime. Stephen got down on one knee and asked Gabrielle to marry him, to which she responded OF COURSE! with tears of happiness rolling down her cheeks!
