Take a trip to Downtown Davenport to explore the Mississippi River! This trail covers over 11 miles, in which you’ll encounter many “hot spots” including Centennial Park, Modern Woodmen Park, home to the QC River Bandits of Minor League Baseball, Le Claire Park, and if you’re ambitious you’ll run into our reception venue…located within Credit Island Park! Fun fact: during Ryan and I’s first “hangout”, not date, we walked close to 4 hours while exploring this trail! Thinking it would “loop” sooner, I think it was an excuse to talk to me longer :)
While in the Quad Cities, make sure to make a stop at this local coffee shop. Locally roasted and freshly brewed coffee with the friendliest staff -- one may have even become my best friend. Fun fact: I worked as a barista here for 2 years while in college. I also got Ryan hooked on one of my favorite teas with a twist: half hibiscus tea, half lemonade, 2 pumps of raspberry! For the coffee lover, try the classic iced vanilla nirvana (cold brew, vanilla syrup, topped off with a splash of cream). Enjoy!
Just a hop and skip away from Ryan and I's Alma Mater, this gorgeous park was a staple while we were in college, whether a study break stroll, hammocking, or to do a little dog-watching. Oh, and it's home to Ryan's proposal...and I said, "yes"!
Perhaps the attraction I got most excited when I first ventured the Quad Cities, the Skybridge! Ryan provided me a close-up of this bridge during our first hang out and I quickly realized he had long legs...skipping the stairs to the top by two's, while my short legs tried to keep up! With a breathtaking view from the top overlooking the Mississippi River, you won't be disappointed. But don't be fooled, there is an elevator :)
If you happen to be staying the wedding night in the Quad Cities, make sure to swing by the Farmer's Market on Saturday morning. Lots of good food, fresh flowers, and of course, lots of doggies :) Needless to say, Ryan figured out the real reason I'd ask to go.
