Justin and Stephanie met in May 2019 at University of South Florida in PA school. Their first interaction together was having to practice pricking each others fingers to test blood glucose. Since then, they became friends and would "study" together in the library - as in, Stephanie would be studying medicine and Justin would be reading news articles about everything else. Justin, the kid who was notoriously late for class every day and sat in the back, got the courage to finally ask Stephanie out in June 2019.

Stephanie's #1 bucket list trip was for Banff National Park so for their third anniversary, Justin surprised Stephanie with plane tickets to Canada. After a few months of planning, they left for their trip on October 2022. They spent every day in Banff hiking 6+ hours a day. Justin had initially planned to propose on October 10 (fun fact: it was Canadian Thanksgiving) at Moraine Lake but the weather was just a bit too windy so Justin kept the ring still packed in his bag. The next day, on October 11, Justin's birthday, they woke up at 5am to get a healthy breakfast of donut holes and coffee at Tim Hortons and drove to Two Jack Lake. Justin set up a blanket where they ate donuts and coffee and watched the sunrise. Then, Justin had "an important question" to ask Stephanie and, of course, the answer was "I KNEW IT!"
