From the day Arthur laid eyes on Stephanie in May 2002 at the carnival he was originally reluctant to go to, he knew she was "The One". Years passed by since that summer, and the two briefly went through life apart. It was finally in January 2019 when they would reconvene. Stephanie was hesitant to date again, but there was a calming and reassuring presence about this man that told her everything would be okay, and that she could trust in love again. Ardie's embrace made her feel secure, his smile gave her peace, and his take charge capability let her shoulders finally rest from holding all the heaviness before him. Stephanie knew Arthur would be her husband once she discovered that his kids' acceptance of her was his top priority, as Stephanie's own kids were of her utmost importance. Ardie was fully equipped to propose to Stephanie on their trip to Las Vegas for his birthday, unbeknownst to her, he just needed to find the right time and place. He discovered the High Roller Ferris Wheel. Originally, he wanted to wait for the wheel to be right at the top, because it was only right if it was done "on top of the world". However, the Ferris wheel moved incredibly slow, and if he waited, it would be after midnight. Plus, Stephanie was beginning to feel as though Ardie was being standoffish, and not enjoying the experience, all the while Ardie was trying to find out the perfect words to say to make this woman his fiancée. He mustered up the courage to ask for her hand, saying that it was only right that they "make something else official", this time, forever...
