Question

Lyford Cay Club Dress Code

Answer

Before you begin packing, please familiarize yourself with the dress code requirements. Lyford Cay Club is a traditional setting and the club's staff will enforce these policies by asking guests to change or leave the area altogether. We would hate for that to happen to you. Full dress code will be sent once you make a hotel reservation and can also be found here - https://www.lyfordcay.com/documents/10180/418c590c-b91a-4ae4-a690-4ce16c5d8999 General items to remember are as follows: - Denim of any kind (including white denim), cargo pants, emblazoned shirts and jackets, and soiled, ragged or torn clothing are not acceptable attire. - Gentlemen are asked to remove hats indoors. In outdoor dining and bar areas, gentlemen’s Panama-style hats are acceptable attire. Billed, baseball-style hats, or peaked caps, are not acceptable dining and bar attire except at the Beach Shack. Billed hats, or peaked caps, worn backwards are not acceptable Club attire. - Gentlemen are required to tuck in shirttails in all dining and bar areas. Cabana-style and Guayabera shirts designed and hemmed to be worn outside trousers are acceptable attire in outdoor dining and bar areas. Tank tops are not acceptable attire for gentlemen. A button down shirt (read: not a golf polo) is required for gentlemen in the Main Bar. - Members and Guests are asked to wear discrete bathing attire. Cover ups are encouraged when walking around pool area. - A reasonable effort should be made to conceal large, prominently displayed tattoos while on Club premises. If you're unsure of any items you plan to pack, feel free to reach out to Robert, Steph or Paige for input!

Question

Can we bring our children?

Answer

We love your kids but kindly ask that you RSVP only for those listed on your invitation. The weekend's events are meant for adults (18+) and childcare options are extremely limited on the island. We know leaving your kids and babies at home is a big ask but we hope you're able to celebrate with us, and we appreciate your understanding!

Question

Do I need a passport?

Answer

Yes! A valid and current passport is required to enter The Bahamas.

Question

Do I need foreign currency?

Answer

No. The Bahamian dollar is tied to the US dollar so no need to exchange. Bring cash with you before you leave because many places (including taxis) do not take credit card. The Bahamian economy is supported by tourism and hospitality so tipping is encouraged when appropriate.

Question

What's a 'Rum Dum'?

Answer

The signature cocktail of Lyford Cay created over 4 decades ago and still enjoyed by guests today. You're going to love it.
