Known as "Paisas" people from Medellin are super welcoming and friendly! Don't feel weird or suspicious if someone openly invites you in for coffee or a bite. Small talk is part of the culture and Paisas love visitors! *DO NOT bring up the Escobar topic. Medellin has long since moved past that terrible period of time and made strides to install peace. Most locals find this extremely distasteful and rude to discuss.

So we get asked "is it safe?" all the time. Do a quick google search and the first page of links all say 2018 Medellin is totally SAFE for tourists. YAY! Nevertheless, like in ANY city, be smart. Pick pocketing and scammers are common there so to help you: -Don't be flashy with your money & phone. -Keep an eye on your things like purse or backpack. -Use cash going out & have small bills for change. Scammers will try to switch out with fake money. BUT we're bringing the pup, Skyler as the official security guard. So don't worry!
