We're getting married!

Darren and Stacey met during her freshman year and his sophomore year of college. They met in the Beachside dorms of CSULB before heading to a basketball game at the Pyramid. Although they never officially dated in college there was always a lingering connection between the two. Stacey the first night they met told her best friend who introduced them that she was going to "marry him". And Darren over the years always told his friends that he was going to "marry that woman one day". Neither of them of course knew of this.

It wasn't until May 2021 that Stacey and Darren officially started dating. Stacey had just moved from Tennessee back to San Diego to take her first nursing job. Darren had seen Stacey was moving to his home town and decided to ask her out. Darren asked her out not once, or twice, but THREE times before she committed to a date. But perseverance prevailed, given seven years in the making and a few declined dates had nothing on this love story.

During Stacey and Darren's trip back to Rocklin for Thanksgiving week, they decided to spend the weekend in Lake Tahoe. Tahoe has become a special place for Darren and Stacey as Darren had never been and it has now become apart of their tradition to visit when they come home for the holidays. Darren had remembered a little spot by the lake the first year they visited so he decided this would be the perfect place to propose. So just the two of them took a short little walk out to the lake, on the most beautiful sunny day with snow still on the ground and he popped the question, and of course she said yes!
