We met as many students at the University of Oregon do - at a mutual friends' house party! I was a freshman and Spence was a junior. However, while we hit it off the very first night we met, it wasn't until 3 years later when fate would reconnect us for good. On a snowy night in December 2016, we serendipitously ran in each other at a small bar in downtown Portland. Little did we both know that night would change the course of our lives forever. After hundreds of dates, adventures, trips and a move to Seattle, we are ready to embark on our next greatest chapter: Marriage!
After many months of secretly planning and subtle hints from Britt that I may or may not have been "dragging my feet," the big moment finally happened at Gas Works Park, one of our favorite Seattle spots. It was a sunny summer day in the city and we spent the afternoon with friends, watching the seaplanes take off from Lake Union. The moment finally came after much nervous conversation. With a racing heart and giddy emotions, I finally dropped to a knee and asked the big question. She said yes, we popped some bubbly and took off in a seaplane to enjoy a quiet and romantic weekend on the San Juan Islands.
